A Border Creations experience begins with one of our design consultants arriving at your home to provide a free estimate. Our knowledgeable staff will show you a stamped concrete portfolio, including photos of previous jobs, stamp and mold choices, and color charts. Our team member will present ideas and then work with you to decide the optimal layout for your border.
When you choose Border Creations, we will then schedule a date for the work to be completed.
Installation Day
-
Marking paint will be used to lay out the areas that are going to be curbed. A sod cutter will be used to cut a trench 2" inches deep by 9" inches wide. All sod and or old landscaping materials will be removed from the site.
-
Next the concrete is mixed on-site out of our curbing trailer with mixer. Our concrete is a mixture of sand, Portland cement, and fiber mesh to add strength. If color is desired, it is also added at this time.
-
The concrete is wheel barrowed and fed into our curbing machine producing a continuous concrete border.
-
Finishing trowels are used to smooth the concrete and work out any imperfections before adding a texture roller or stamp pattern if so desired.
-
Control joints are cut into the curb every 3-4 feet approximately 40% through, while the concrete is wet to allow for ground freeze and thaw.
-
The curb is sprayed with a concrete cure and seal to add strength and durability and help keep colors from fading.
-
Finally, an in depth clean up of the job site to ensure everything else is the same except for the addition of your beautiful landscape curbing.
